Sorry for the late reply..I was on holiday.
This may be the solution, thanks. Tried to connect with other scooter which has only 50% oil in it. And idle works.. smiling smiley Will fill the gas tank and try again next month, leaving for holidays again.

I had a similar problem with my 63 GL last month after getting it running after several years in storage. It would start and idle but either not run at all without a little choke on, or go 200 feet down the street and then die like it wasn't getting fuel. I'd already gone through the carb so I knew it was clean and I had good flow from the tap and line so I ended up pulling the carb and carb box out. I suspected an air leak but didn't know from where. I sanded down the carb box bottom on a flat surface and then greased the gasket which seemed kinda dry and reinstalled the box and the carb. Runs perfectly now. Good fuel flow and no overheating or having to run any choke. I guess the previous owner tightened the carb too tight and warped the box? Have you looked at that?
