I'm considering a restoration project of a vintage Vespa 50's 60's (if I can finds one)
I'm mechanically minded enough not to be intimidated but I'm a scooter novice so I'll be jumping in at the deep end, which I'm fine with (part of the fun)
My concern is I need to make a purchase to start with, which is where I can make my biggest mistake.
So, my questions:
- What to look out for on a 'pile of parts' Vespa (pre-1970)?
- Which parts (if missing / damaged) would be a nightmare to find / replace?
- How do I know what to pay? (I'm not on a tight budget but I don't want to pay €2000 for a €500 pile of junk).
thanks in advance.
