Now in modern time I have a digital camera....

The seat frame was sand blasted and powdercoated.

It was then taken to Motorcycle upholstery specialist John Longo

John has and still is in the business, We had a original cover as a model, and John made the inner liner from Leather, and cover from thick genuine naugahyde.
In 97 he charged $400 to do this.

At that time reproduction seat covers for the GS were not available, but Eventually I got to see one and Johns work is by far Superior to the cheap thin covers made in Italy today.

after many years I also managed to find an original strap in Switzerland.

A vespa needs a rack, and these reproductions just came out at the time with thick pipe and heavy plating.

Sheet metal parts were powder coated and the proper crackle finish applied to the black parts

More detail, I have the new boot strap, just decided not to put it on, it makes it easier to get to the carb.

Call me anal, but I found and reused 2 original tubes with correct thumb nut that prevents the tube from shifting,
All the wheel nuts are the correct 14mm wrench size

]

the tail pipe was modified and made in stainless, it diverts the soot away from the body, one small change from original.

The swing arm cover is NOS, not reproduction. the fender screws and ign switch were about the only parts re chrome plated,

]

The stand and springs were re cadmium plated, no spray cans were used on this restoration

I love the clean look without accessories.

in Eurovespa in 98 I found a small part I always wanted.
could not bring myself to drill the holes thru the body to mount this Vintage part.

]

In Finland I found a NOS Vespa spare tire mount

]

The front rack is actually an original that my Finnish friend Timo M had replated,
tool kit and 6% cup are original and correct

the handbag hook is NOS found in Sweden

the battery tray is original, the straps are new reproduction, and a NOS spare key.

the crank is a good clean used one, the cylinder is a used spare and use able.

the pistons are New,

I at one time wanted to top and tail a different cylinder and install one of these small frame tuning pistons with thinner rings
to gain a little more power due to less friction and lighter more modern piston design.
this is all realistic and has been done before.
