I'm a retired art teacher. I like to design, make, and restore stuff. See my creations and whatnot on my website. Currently restoring a 64 Allstate Vespa, 47 Rolling Home Invader travel trailer, 60 Redfish runabout, and now a 56 MGA. Thanks to the information and tips found in forum member's own restoration stories and Barney Gaylord's site, the MGAGuru, I am inspired to start this restoration.

I first bought a 1958 MG Magnette while a student at U.C. Davis in the spring of 1967. But later that summer I bought a 1958 MGA roadster so I sold the Magnette. Before I was drafted into the US Army in Jan 1969, I rebuilt the motor and painted the MGA maroon. I drove the MG from Sacramento, Ca. to FT.Hood, Texas in July 1969 where I shortly there after wrecked it.
